Account Deletion Policy

This policy explains how registered SafeVoice users can delete their accounts and what happens to associated data. It supplements our Privacy Policy.

1. Who Can Delete an Account

Any user who created a SafeVoice account with email and password may request permanent deletion. Anonymous reporters without accounts do not need account deletion—use local data wipe in the mobile app instead.

2. How to Delete (Mobile App)

Open the SafeVoice Android app → Settings (Profile tab) → Delete Account → enter your password → confirm. This calls our secure API and revokes all login tokens.

3. How to Delete (Email Request)

Email privacy@safevoice.ng from your registered address with subject "Account Deletion". We will verify identity and complete deletion within 30 days.

4. What Is Deleted vs. Retained

Deleted: account name, email, password hash, and API tokens.
Anonymized: reports you submitted may remain anonymized (reporter_id removed) for legal case-management obligations. Resolved cases are purged per our Data Retention Policy.

5. Local Device Data

Account deletion does not erase data stored only on your phone. Use Wipe Local Data in Settings to remove drafts, PIN, and recordings from your device.
