Your Rights as a Student
Understand the institutional codes of conduct and how they protect you from intimidation.
Every Nigerian tertiary institution is bound by federal anti-harassment policies and the National Universities Commission (NUC) guidelines. Your rights include:
- Right to an impartial investigation of harassment reports.
- Right to academic protection: Lecturers cannot arbitrarily fail you or block your exams as retaliation.
- Right to privacy: Investigations must protect the victim's identity from public disclosure.
